There is a crack in everything,

Helping you navigate complex health events.
Welcome. I’m Lisa, a licensed mental health professional in Vancouver, BC.
For 20 years, I have been working in various health care settings, including residential and out-patient addiction treatment programs, the BC Cancer Agency and the Stroke Recovery Association of BC. The focus of my work is assisting people in their recovery and adjustment following complex health events.
My counselling integrates skills and approaches from trauma-informed practice, mindfulness, acceptance and commitment therapy and positive psychology. The modalities I work with are evidence-based and backed by an understanding of human growth and development.
Singing is good for your body and mind, and the benefits have nothing to do with how “good” or “bad” you think your voice is! Research shows that singing increases positive emotions, reduces fatigue and stress, stimulates immune function, and more. I invite you to try it out by joining me or a community song circle.
Recovery from stroke can be a long journey that is filled with many obstacles and challenges. You are not alone in this journey. Every year about 60,000 Canadians are affected by stroke. One key to navigating your recovery is finding the right resources and programs that can help you with the physical and emotional challenges.
